Oh Wow, how about PAYBACK making OLP stuff?!?!?! by Joker on Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:04 pm
OLP? WTF? Exactly! OLP stands for Officially Licensed Product. How awesome would it be for "us" to start producing OLP Stuff?!?!?! Yeah, it would be pretty damned awesome if you ask me. Why am I bringing this up now? Well, Sony just started a new program and it's called "Official License Program", pretty original huh? Yeah, that's what I thought too. Anyway, you can read all about it here. So yeah, with all of the things going on with me lately, hosting the PSMove House Party, trying like hell to get David Jaffe, Jeff Rubenstein, Will "Cyrus" Powers, Kevin Butler or someone else from Sony... The "easy" games of today... by Joker on Sat Sep 06, 2008 2:49 am
(originally posted Wed Mar 12, 2008 1:27 pm) This sorta encompasses some of my previous blogs, posts, and thoughts about the gaming industry as a whole and what it means for gamers today. Gaming has taken off and is extremely close to becoming "America's Pastime". So many people today play games, it's absolutely amazing. I'm 32 with a wife a kids, my kids play video games at ages 8 & 7, and my father-in-law (or is it Step-father-in-law? Not really sure) plays games on his PS3. See, that's a huge variety of ages and demographics, all playing video games, and sometimes the exact same games. What do gaming companies think of when they are making a game? Which crowd do they go after? Simple, the one that will yield them the best revenue. It's what everyone does honestly. There's no sense making a game that's only going to appeal to a small area of the market, they need to maximize their profits, it's understandable. However, they should be making a game that is pleasing to all.... [ Continued ]

NCAA Football 08 by Joker on Sat Sep 06, 2008 1:37 am
(originally posted Wed Nov 28, 2007 10:50 am) For those of you that like sports games, you know that EA does a tremendous job in the product that they put out there. Whether it be for Madden Football, NCAA Football, FIFA, Baseball, and even basketball, they're all smokin' hot video games to play each and every year. When NCAA Football first came out in '94, I really didn't get into it because of how limited the game play was. It was called Bill Walsh College Football and they were trying to make it have the same ring as Madden had, but it just didn't. In '96 they changed it to College Football USA 96 and that's kinda when the game took off. It was the first time you could play with all of the division I-A teams which was really pleasing for fans of colleges that didn't have that great of a program. In the previous two editions of the game you were limited to the top 25 teams and the top 36 respectively. They also brought in the real Bowl Game names and gave you 400 plays to call. I remember... Plans for The Liontamer! by Uranium on Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:01 pm
So I've decided to just leave all of the old blogs in the vault and start from scratch.
My plans for the new blog are as follows: This blog will be your insight to the daily life of PAYBACK-Uranium. I will try and post a blog at the end of every day if possible with a short re-cap of the day's events. You might be saying "Uranium, who gives a shit about your everyday life? This is a video game clan, not a group on facebook." To you I say Valid. BUT. Daily blogs about the goings on in my life are not all that I'll be posting. In addition there will be posts about the games I'm currently playing, new games I am looking forward to, tales from video games past, hell, maybe even a review on a game or movie from time to time. We'll see. Apart from that I want the content of this blog to be feedback driven. Tell me what you like, hate, don't care about, whatever. The more you tell me what you think, the more changes I can make to turn this blog into something... [ Continued ]

News and Information/Soul Calibur 4 by Joker on Sat Sep 06, 2008 2:56 am
(originally posted Sat Mar 22, 2008 11:59 am) As gamers we are constantly bombarded by information, whether it be credible or not, day after day. We surf the internet looking for information, we subscribe to podcasts to hear others' opinions or to hear developers discuss their projects, we sign up on various message boards to try and be the first of our friends to find stuff out, whether it be to share, enlighten or gloat. There's so much out there, no one person can ever have all of the information, and with so much of it, who could possibly cram it all up in their minds anyway? However, as "responsible" gamers, who do like to inform the masses (albeit I'm not sure how much of the masses actually listen to me) about upcoming information and ideas, we do try to lend a helping hand. And that's what I'm going to try to do. I've been into gaming, or at least around the gaming scene for going on 20 years now. At first it didn't consume me and draw me in, although I did have a subscription... [ Continued ]
