star wars: the force unleashed

Permanent Linkby PAYBACK-FAY on Sun Jun 14, 2009 5:34 pm

note: i wrote these notes the night that i beat the game (about 2 weeks ago) and never posted them. they arent as coherent as my normal posts but here they are. enjoy.

Beat star wars: the force unleashed and I have plenty to say about the game.

Music is well done
Graphics are fine
The environments are very different with each planet/ship you explore
The bosses all have different techniques
Costume keeps changing with the task you must complete and the environment you are in
Visually pretty nice. Some of the colors were yuckie. Like on the alien planet.
Don’t lose life when you fall but if you fall off a platform and into space you die. No force power to bring yourself back to the platform.
What is the point of having force grip when it makes you vulnerable to attacks from enemies and mostly all enemies are immune to it.
End: I did the evil vengeful ending by killing vader. Unfulfilling and stupid. I wanted my character to commit to being evil. He won’t though and its really lame. I feel like I didn’t get to chose anything because he just gets forced into his next gig. I watched the jedi good guy ending on youtube. It wasn’t all that fulfilling either. But it was a little more satisfactory. At least I committed to my choice and died for the cause.

Finished with characters and vehicles still locked. Also 15 lightsaber’s/crystals to unlock. And I still could have leveled up a bunch of force talents and whatnot.

I thought about replaying it because I did have some fun and I wanted to unlock the rest of the stuff but I chose not too because all in all it wasn’t a great game.

The story line was decent (with the exceptions of both endings). Compelling enough to get me to watch the cut scenes and want to see what happens next to my character. My character, Starkiller, was certainly a round character. He is a well developed character. I understand why we were completing the missions we were given.

There is a menu the player has the option to check out called database. It has information about all the vehicles, characters, and places you encounter in the game. I checked it out just a few times. I was surprised with the background information I read. It was very informational and pertained to the game. I still had a few characters and vehicles locked when I finished the game which doesn’t make much sense to me.
